Like Sam Harris and Steven Pinker, we think Richard Dawkins has it a little wrong with religion. Moreso than them, however, he gets really obnoxious about it sometimes, and really needs to acknowledge the good that Christianity and Judaism have bestowed upon the world as well.
His work as a scientist is valuable, but I don’t think lends credibility to his disdain in religion any more than any other field of higher study would. I think his humour is somewhat of a redeeming quality in the ways that he goes about talking about atheism, and makes it a little easier to swallow. But the anger, if toned down, could help his message go farther.
